Gochujang Egg-In-A-Hole

Egg-in-a-hole is such a classic breakfast staple where you create a hole in the middle of bread and cook an egg directly in the hole. This is such an easy and creative breakfast idea to spice up eggs and toast.

Recipe

  • Sourdough bread
  • Egg
  • Butter
  • Shredded cheese blend
  • Bacon lardons
  • Tomato
  • Cilantro
  • Lemon Juice
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Gochujang-bacon mayo
    • Mayonaise
    • Gochujang
    • Bacon Fat
    • Lemon Juice
  1. Cook bacon in oven at 400F until done. Chop up bacon into bits (lardons).
  2. Cut tomatoes and mix with cilantro, salt, pepper & lemon juice.
  3. Make gochujang mayo by combining leftover bacon fat, mayo, gochujang & lemon juice. Adjust ingredients to taste.
  4. Cut a hole in the center of the slice of bread.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat with butter. Place bread and crack egg straight into the center of the hole.
  6. Cook until egg sets at the bottom. Season with salt and pepper. Flip egg/bread. Add shredded cheese. Cook until egg is done.
  7. Garnish toast with gochujang mayo, bacon lardons, and tomato salad. Enjoy!
