Vegan Chocolate Olive Oil Cake

Olive oil is a great alternative to butter. It makes such a delicious and moist cake. This recipe is vegan and could be gluten-free by using a 1:1 gluten-free flour instead of all-purpose flour. Olive oil cake is by far one of my favorite desserts and a great way to end a dinner party. Enjoy!

Recipe:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (substitute 1:1 gluten-free flour optional)
  • 2 cups white granulated sugar
  • 6 tbs cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extra
  • 2 cups cold water
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Sift flour through a sieve.
  3. In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt & cinnamon.
  4. In a larger bowl, combine olive oil, apple cider vinegar, vanilla & cold water.
  5. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  6. Pour into a 9in. cake pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until done.
  7. Cool and dust powdered sugar over right before serving.
